Importance of Numbers in Roulette

Roulette is one of the oldest and most popular casino games. It has two well-known variants – Americal Roulette with two Zero columns (total 38) and European Roulette with a single Zero column (total 37). There are 36 numbers in Roulette spread across the round table. A spinning wheel is set in the middle of the table. A ball is rolled in the opposite direction of the spinning wheel and any column the ball falls on decides the winners and losers.

There are various types of bets played in the game, all with varying payouts depending on the chances of winning. Cold Numbers in Roulette

These are the numbers where the ball has landed quite rarely over a span of time. In another contrary popular belief, people choose cold numbers as they believe that ball will land on the numbers where it has not landed for a while. Clearly, the concept of hot and cold numbers in roulette is no strategy. Number Pattern

There are various number patterns that a player must know about before taking on the game of wheel. These patterns can be based on all 36 numbers or a few selective numbers out of 36. For example, an odd or even number pattern lets a player choose either 18 of the even numbers or the odd ones.

A dozen pattern allows a player to choose a group of 12 numbers from 1-12 or 13-24 or 25-36. A pattern of high and low numbers divides all the high-value numbers (19-36) and all the low-value numbers (1-18). A column number pattern or column bet states that a number shall lie on a particular column.

Colour Pattern

The colour pattern is more or less similar to the even or odd number pattern. On the table, all the columns except for zero are coloured black and red alternatively. Therefore, choosing any of the colours provides the same probability of winning as in even or odd bet.
